On March 19, 2026, a press conference was held at the TASS press center dedicated to launching the annual competition of the International Scientific School “Medicina Molodaya,” organized by the Academician V.P. Filatov Foundation with the support of the Presidential Grants Foundation.
This year, the “Medicina Molodaya” competition reached a new international scale. For the first time, alongside Russian specialists, young scientists from CIS countries, China, Serbia, and India will participate in the competition.

Each researcher has a personal dashboard to showcase projects, while investors and technology brokers can evaluate innovations and connect directly with creators through the Foundation,” noted Elena Dibrova.

According to Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Inna Svyatenko, the “Medicina Molodaya” International Scientific School has reaffirmed its standing as one of the most effective platforms for cultivating and advancing early-career scientific talent. The project is aligned with objectives outlined in the Healthcare Development Strategy, aimed at fostering human capital and research capabilities within healthcare-affiliated organizations. The vital importance of engaging and supporting early-career researchers and facilitating clinical translation was emphasized by Artem Narkevich, Director of the Department of Medical Education and Personnel Policy in Healthcare of the Ministry of Health of Russia; Oxana Drapkina, Director of the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Russia and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences; and Armais Kamalov, Head of the Scientific Department of MNOI MSU and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.Innokentiy Dementyev, Deputy Director General of the Presidential Grants Foundation, also highlighted the dynamic growth taking place within “Medicina Molodaya” and urged young researchers to actively submit applications to the competition.“Before our eyes, immense work has been accomplished: evolving from a high-quality competition and civic initiative into a full-fledged ecosystem that unites thousands of motivated young individuals and scientists with their own projects and ideas,” emphasized Innokentiy Dementyev. He further noted that the “Medicina Molodaya” initiative is emerging as a catalyst for citizen diplomacy. Despite contemporary barriers in international scientific cooperation, medicine remains a powerful bridge to sustain cross-border dialogue, cultural engagement, and societal collaboration.
