“MEDICINA MOLODAYA” Participants Undertake Internships at Medtech

January 23, 2026

Mentorship of young researchers and physicians who participated in the All-Russian Summer Camp “RUSSIA — A COUNTRY OF SCIENTISTS. MEDICINA MOLODAYA” follows individualized development tracks. Through spring, nine participants will complete internships at the Moscow Center for Innovative Technologies in Healthcare (Medtech). They represent graduates and students from Pacific State Medical University, Samara State Medical University, and National Research Ogarev Mordovia State University.

The internships were awarded based on outcomes of the All-Russian Summer Camp “RUSSIA — A COUNTRY OF SCIENTISTS. MEDICINA MOLODAYA,” where 9 out of 50 participants earned them by winning the Biomedical Quiz. This interactive competition provides rewards for all contestants, with special commendations awarded to the winning team based on accumulated points.

Several researchers — such as Maria Dmitrachenko from PSMU, Vladivostok (whose research investigates inter-ethnic variations in immune response) — are preparing to begin their internships. Others have already completed their practicum at Medtech. For instance, Kristina Kisurina, General Medicine student at PSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia, completed her training in December 2025.

— The internship provided invaluable insight into the inner workings of an R&D department, helping me structure the entire development process. It allowed me to evaluate my project from a fresh perspective. I was able to fine-tune my project objectives and divide the roadmap into actionable phases for smoother execution. Moreover, the Summer Camp introduced me to many inspiring peers. Many attendees were more experienced and generously shared valuable insights about my prospective medical specialty. I am deeply grateful to “MEDICINA MOLODAYA,” — shared Kristina Kisurina.

At the Vladivostok scientific pitch session, which earned her an invitation to the All-Russian Summer Camp, Kristina Kisurina presented her project, “Development of Next-Generation Photosensitizers Activated by Red Light or Bremsstrahlung Ionizing Radiation for Malignant Neoplasm Therapy.”

The interns previously gained practical experience aligned with their specialization, such as studying applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare or working as clinical nurses performing preventive health screenings.

Initiated by the V.P. Filatov International Foundation for Biomedical Technologies Development and supported by the Moscow Center for Innovative Technologies in Healthcare, this internship initiative aims to empower young scientists with skills for commercializing and translating innovations into the medical market.

In-depth expertise in technology entrepreneurship is offered to participants in the project scaling program (“dorashchivanie”), launched by the V.P. Filatov Foundation in 2025. Mentors have been guiding 13 residents since 2025, with nine additional young scientists joining this year. Specially for program participants, the Foundation created an educational and product-focused IT accelerator in partnership with the PREVENTMED Union. The digital platform will launch in February.
