Moscow State University and the Filatov Foundation Sign Strategic Partnership Agreement

October 12, 2026

On October 10, the Faculty of Bioengineering and Bioinformatics of Lomonosov Moscow State University and the V.P. Filatov International Foundation for Biomedical Technologies Development entered into a strategic partnership agreement, opening a new chapter in collaborative efforts across cutting-edge fields of bioengineering and bioinformatics.

The agreement establishes formal collaboration across scientific research, education, and public outreach.

A key focus is the practical integration of science and clinical healthcare, as well as providing end-to-end support for young investigators: from early hypothesis to applied clinical product.

Under the agreement, winners of the “MEDICINA MOLODAYA” competition will be offered internships across clinical and industrial partner facilities of the Faculty, as well as MSU engineering schools. Young Foundation researchers will gain access to university laboratories for experimental research and opportunities to participate in national and international congresses, symposiums, and scientific schools.

Faculty members will be engaged to deliver guest lectures, conduct seminars, and perform expert evaluation of Foundation projects. Both parties also plan to develop joint educational curricula, publish collaborative research papers in high-impact journals, and host academic conferences and roundtables.

“Partnering with the Filatov Foundation opens exciting new avenues for our students and early-career researchers. We are fostering an environment where scientific ideas gain practical backing and research teams receive access to modern laboratory and clinical facilities. I am confident this partnership will provide strong momentum for domestic bioengineering and bioinformatics,” — highlighted Acting Dean of the Faculty of Bioengineering and Bioinformatics of MSU Andrey Zamyatnin.

Vladimir Petrovich Filatov always united fundamental science with clinical practice — his tissue therapy emerged from ophthalmology and extended far beyond its borders. The agreement with the Faculty of Bioengineering and Bioinformatics of MSU carries forward this enduring tradition: we create an environment where fundamental science directly addresses practical healthcare challenges.

The Faculty of Bioengineering and Bioinformatics of Lomonosov Moscow State University is Russia’s leading educational and research center educating specialists in molecular biology, bioinformatics, biotechnology, and bioengineering. The faculty actively pursues interdisciplinary research in close collaboration with academic and industrial partners.
