Agreement Between the Filatov Foundation and NATT to Strengthen Support System for Young Scientists

February 5, 2026

An agreement between the V.P. Filatov International Foundation for Biomedical Technologies Development and the National Association for Technology Transfer (NATT) establishes a five-year strategic partnership in innovation development.

The agreement aims to create optimal conditions for implementing scientific projects and reinforcing cooperation between science and business.  The document was executed on the sidelines of the SMARTzdrav Congress.

The agreement was signed by Elena Dibrova, President of the V.P. Filatov International Foundation for Biomedical Technologies Development, and Alexey Filimonov, Executive Director of NATT. Filimonov expressed confidence in the fruitful partnership, as NATT possesses an extensive toolkit for commercializing innovations, while the Foundation contributes in-depth medical expertise and proven experience mentoring scientific developments across various lifecycle stages.

— Medicine is a complex and multifaceted field where robust, systematic commercialization models can only be built through expanding partner networks: NATT, the Filatov Foundation, industrial partners, universities, and others. Science cannot exist disconnected from reality, without tangible outcomes — practical translation into everyday life. It is crucial that scientific developments created in Russia reach the public. This is precisely the direction in which we plan to work together, — commented Alexey Filimonov.

The agreement encompasses sharing best practices in project commercialization, strengthening the intellectual property framework, including technology transfer, and jointly implementing educational programs and scientific-practical events, conferences, seminars, roundtables, and panel sessions.

The initial step will involve young researchers who completed the Foundation’s programs participating in NATT pitch sessions. The expert panel comprises representatives of specialized industrial enterprises engaged in technology scouting and corporate R&D, as well as technology brokers. Participants will receive targeted guidance on essential steps for translating scientific innovations into clinical practice, particularly during early-stage project development.
