Filatov Foundation Team Presents Biomedical Innovation Experience at SMARTzdrav Congress

February 4, 2026

A major industry gathering centered on “The Art of Smart Wellness and Quality of Life” was held at the “Russia” National Center on February 3.  The congress provided a collaborative platform connecting physicians, social sphere experts, cultural leaders, business figures, and fashion specialists.

Elena Dibrova, President of the V.P. Filatov International Foundation for Biomedical Technologies Development, addressed the session “Beauty and Fashion: Healthy Trends,” which drew, alongside renowned medical professionals, a substantial audience of early-career doctors. Speakers focused primarily on the potential of modern bio- and regenerative medicine.

Elena Dibrova recounted the evolution of biotechnology, highlighting the pioneering contribution of Academician Filatov, and presented a video honoring the scientist. The Foundation President also highlighted the “MEDICINA MOLODAYA” program and the broad array of opportunities it provides to participants.

— Our project extends across medical universities and research institutes from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka.  The “MEDICINA MOLODAYA” competition reveals exceptional talents and notable scientific investigations. We present the winning projects to prominent national authorities—essentially the leaders shaping modern medicine—helping advance these projects and increase the citation metrics of the authors. I invite everyone to get involved in our initiative, participate, and become leaders! — addressed Elena Dibrova to the youth.

The theme of biomedicine was further highlighted by Kirill Masliev, MD, Ph.D., Head of Preventive Medicine at EMC and science popularizer. He highlighted industry metrics, noting that the annual biotechnology market reaches 9 trillion dollars. These techniques are designed, among other benefits, to support personal aesthetics and appearance, which, Masliev emphasized, involves not merely facial aesthetics, but also optimal results on regular health check-ups. Discussing one’s health markers in personal and professional gatherings has become a modern best practice, the expert added.

Senator Daria Lantratova, Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, noted in her address that corporate wellness programs should continue to be expanded. Such initiatives, the parliamentarian stated, enhance workplace productivity by 10–15%. Every ruble invested in a workplace health program yields a fourfold return due to lowered employee morbidity.

Ilmira Gilmutdinova, Head of the Institute of Translational Medicine at the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine and expert of “MEDICINA MOLODAYA,” presented on technologies addressing root causes of aging: genomic instability, telomere attrition, stem cell exhaustion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and others.

Beatrisa Volel, Director of the Institute of Clinical Medicine at Sechenov University, Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychosomatics, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and mentor of “MEDICINA MOLODAYA,” discussed effective strategies for preserving mental health.

Additional speakers at the session included: Ekaterina Kruglik, Chief Physician of a network of plastic surgery clinics; Olga Shestova, Editor-in-Chief of a professional medical publishing house; Kira Sorokina-Efimova and Natalia Shik, founders of cosmeceutical distribution and manufacturing companies, and others.

The congress was organized by the Federation Council, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Russia, the “Russia” National Center, and the Russian Society for the Prevention of Noncommunicable Diseases.
